Hello. I'm Liz Deverell-Smith, a digital experience planner. I work with clients to ensure websites achieve their goals for both client and user.

About

My background is marketing; my passion is digital creativity.

I am Chartered Institute of Marketing qualified, a Marketing Management graduate with a First Class Honours degree. I fell out of university straight into the digital industry and my enthusiasm for everything web has meant that I haven't budged since.

I landed my first job working for Lightmaker - an award winning international digital agency whose portfolio spans many large multinational brands. Lightmaker Manchester specifically has produced awesome and inspiring websites for Liberty, Morphy Richards, and Activision.

Working as a Consultant I was responsible for carrying out primary research to understand user needs, goals, and behaviours to drive website design and development as well as understanding the market within which the client company operates. I specifically have worked on discovery projects for Quick TV, Wax Lyrical, and Biome Lifestyle.

In May 2009 I decided to go out on my own as a freelance user experience researcher and have most recently been carrying out competitor research and web heuristic analyses for Flame Digital; a full service digital agency based in Manchester, and Netcars.com; the ultimate car search engine and a strong contender to steal the crown from Autotrader.

Aside from my role in user experience research, I have a particular interest in web applications and iPhone applications and have been utilising my usability and marketing knowledge for a new web application A Simple Measure which went live on 21st April.

I am available for freelance work so feel free to sling me an email or pick up the phone.
